Just two days before the StarSeries IX Finals, the second tier of the SLTV league, ProSeries, has come to an end with USSR winning over GGWP.pro 2-0 (16-8 on de_inferno, 16-2 on de_mirage).

Parallel to SLTV StarSeries, the ninth season of ProSeries took place with teams battling for promotion and $1,500, and the playoffs were held this week where the 6 best teams of the season went head to head.

USSR clinch SLTV ProSeries IX

In the quarter-finals USSR edged out Voronezh Cup runners-up 97club from Belarus 2-1, after which they beat Dmitry "hooch" Bogdanov's Nostalgie in the semis 2-0 (16-3 on de_dust2, 19-15 on de_mirage).

On the other side of the bracket, Swedish team formerly known as highgrade, now Flipsid3, made it past Russian squad tmUragan, but then lost to Lithuanian GGWP.pro in the semi-final (14-16 on de_inferno, 6-16 on de_dust2).

By winning their semi-final matches, both USSR and GGWP.pro secured their spots in SLTV StarSeries X, but they still had to play the final to decide who will get the $700 prize.

Eventually on day three of the playoffs, the Russians, led by great play from their young star Egor "flamie" Vasilyev and their awper Ivan "keepitreaL" Pisarev, won comfortably 16-8 on de_inferno and 16-2 on de_mirage.
